#  MAJOR IIP WORKS TENDER RELEASED TO THE MARKET 

TasRail is set to release to the market a further IIP Works Package Tender for re-railing and re-sleepering works on the Western and Melba Lines.

  This will be the largest, single works package offered under the four year Tasmanian Rail Freight Revitalisation Program that is jointly funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments. The tender will be advertised in Saturday's newspapers and via the TasRail website. This works package will see the installation of 48,000 new sleepers and 30 kilometres of new rail across priority sections of these major rail freight corridors, as well as minor drainage works and the re-railing of a selected number of level crossings.
