Temporary Level Crossing Closure - Hoblers Bridge Road, Newstead
As part of ongoing efforts to improve the safety and reliability of the Tasmanian Rail Network, TasRail, in partnership with Gradco Pty Ltd, will undertake essential infrastructure upgrades on the Western Line rail crossing at Hoblers Bridge Road.

This essential infrastructure work will require the temporary closure of the level crossing. Residents and road users are advised that a detour will be in place for the length of the closure and extra time should be factored into planned activities.
Expected time of road closure:
9pm Saturday, 16 August – 5am Sunday, 17 August 2025
As part of the approved traffic management plan for these works, road traffic will be diverted to one lane after the closure - from 5-7am on Sunday 17 August 2025.
TasRail is committed to protecting the safety of its employees, contractors, and the public. Residents are asked to be particularly vigilant for vehicle and equipment movements in the area and to always obey traffic management signage and directions given by staff on site.
